Branko Šumenjak

Since 2006 he has been a Councillor on the Municipal Council of Ormož and the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ormož

 

Born in Ljubljana on 8 April 1953. 

He spent his childhood in Ormož, where he attended elementary school. He graduated from Ljutomer Gymnasium, a general secondary school, in 1973. In the period 1973-1975, he studied at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, but did not complete his studies. In the period 1980-1981, he underwent training at the Railway Traffic School.

Work experience:

From 1970 to 1980  he taught physical education at the Miklavž pri Ormožu Elementary School

From 1981 to 1984  he worked as a train controller at the Ptuj and Pragersko train stations

From 1984 to 1987  he worked as an instructor of manufacturing practice for students at the Railway Secondary School in Maribor

From 1987 to 1993  he worked as a transport desk officer in the Transport Section of Pragersko

From 1993 to 2012  he worked as a representative of Slovenian Railways in Croatia

Since 2012   he has been a Councillor in the National Council

He is a veteran of the War for Slovenian Independence, 1991. He is married and has a daughter
