Official visit of the Speaker of the Senate of Canada to the Republic of Slovenia

The Speaker of the Senate of Canada George J. Furey arrived on Monday, 5th September, for an official visit along with his delegation. He was received by the President of the National Council Mitja Bervar and his delegation; both delegations also met to hold official talks. Apart from the President, the delegation of the National Council was made up of Vice-President Branko Šumenjak, Member of National Council Peter Vrisk, Member of National Council Alojz Kovšca and Secretary General of the National Council Marjan Maučec. On their several days visit, the guests from Canada will also be received by President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, President of the National Assembly Milan Brglez, Prime Minister Miro Cerar and Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Erjavec, while on the first day of their visit they also attended the Bled Strategic Forum.
